Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to
Birth Trauma Aotearoa
Birth Trauma Aotearoa champions the prevention of birth trauma along with improvements in support following birth trauma.
Birth Trauma Aotearoa is a Registered Charitable Trust working in the birth trauma space across Aotearoa New Zealand.
We work towards an Aotearoa where all women, birthing people and their whānau have the opportunity to experience safe, respectful, nurtured birth and where whānau have easy access to effective and equitable support and treatment following trauma and injury.

Our mahi
Take action
50 for 50
Every year, we invite you to join us in acknowledging and honouring
Aotearoa’s birth trauma community by doing 50 of something over
Birth Trauma Awareness Week (mid-July).
Why 50? Because that’s the number of mums/birthing parents impacted
by psychological birth trauma PER DAY in Aotearoa.
We’ve had people plant 50 seeds, bake 50 biccies, cycle 50km, offer 50 hugs,
do 50 lunges - you choose the 50 things to do and we’d love to hear about it!
Keep an eye on our social media channels to find out more detail.
